About Heritage

A Church with a Heart for People

Heritage Baptist Church is a student-created church concept built around a simple purpose: to honor the Lord, teach His Word, and help people grow in their Christian lives.

Our project represents an independent, fundamental Baptist church with traditional services, a love for families, and a desire to share the Gospel in our community.

Meet our pastor

Jarrett Sumastre

Pastor Jarrett Sumastre welcomes you to Heritage Baptist Church. His message for this project is simple: come hear the Bible, meet people who care, and discover a church family where you can grow.

This is a fictional pastoral role for the class project. Replace the initials with your own approved photograph if desired.

What We Believe

For this class project, Heritage is represented by these foundational Baptist beliefs:

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our authority for faith and practice. Scripture quotations on this site use the King James Version.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, death for our sins, bodily resurrection, and promised return.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned through good works.

The Local Church

The local church gathers for worship, Bible teaching, fellowship, and service. We believe in believers’ baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The Bible Way to Heaven

The Gospel is the good news of what Jesus Christ has done for us.

Recognize our need. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” — Romans 3:23, KJV

Understand God’s gift. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23, KJV

Believe Christ died for us. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8, KJV

Call upon the Lord. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13, KJV
